Atmospheric Models and Astronomical and Parallactic Refraction

Abstract

The problem of the refraction angle of rays passing through the atmosphere from an object in space to a ground observer is examined for cases where (1) the object is within the atmosphere (high-altitude target), (2) the object is beyond the atmosphere in near space (satellite, meteor), and (3) the object is the infinity (star).
