Superconductivity and Its Relevance to Military Applications.

Abstract

The paper describes some of the history behind the phenomena of superconductivity, the phenomenological London theory and the quantum mechanical theory of Bardeen Cooper and Schrieffer. The author describes some recnet work in Europe and the United States in Superconducting rotating machinery and Josephson Junction devices and reports on the recent conference in London March 24-26, 'Low Temperatures and Electric Power.'
