Radio Interface Group.

Abstract

This report describes an equipment group designated RADIO INTERFACE GROUP, OA-8445()(V)/GSQ-113(V). The Radio Interface Group (RIG) is designed for use with RADIO DATA SET AN/GSQ-113(V). The RIG provides, at the Receiver/Display Unit (R-4510) of the Radio Data Set (RDS), the capability of selecting either of two operating modes for each of the RDS transmitter units (T-1063): (1) Antenna Radiation Link; (2) Buried Video Cable Link. The RIG consists of one Receiver Interface Unit (RIU) and 10 Transmitter Interface Units (TIU's). The TIU accepts RF signals from the RDS transmitter and either converts the signals to video for transmission to the RIU over coaxial cable or relays the RF signals to the RDS antenna. The mode of operation, either RF or VIDEO, is controlled by a MODE selector switch located on the front panel of the RIU. The primary function of the RIU is to accept video pulses from any of the 10 TIU's, mix these signals, and supply a video data stream to the RDS Receiver/Display.
