Art and Requirements of Command (ARC). Volume II: Generalship Study

Abstract

This volume is part of a four-volume study conducted by the Systems Science Department of the Franklin Institute Research Laboratories. The overall study, Art and Requirements of Command, is aimed at identifying and analyzing the command-control support requirements of senior commanders. This volume, Generalship Study, is the product of a major study effort. A 'generalship' or 'command' questionnaire was developed and distributed to 150 general officers -- active and retired. On the basis of more than 80 replies, a composite command portrait was developed. This volume contains a compendium of selected questionnaire responses.
