Design and Fabrication of the Intervalometer for Battefield Illumination System (IBIS).

Abstract

This report covers the design and fabrication of a flare firing intervalometer. The entire system was designed and fabricated in-house by the Solid State Applications Section at Rome Air Development Center. The case was designed and made in the Experimental Fabrication Shop. Most of the steps during the study, design, and fabrication are discussed, even though later knowledge and experience led to modification or to alternate approaches. The intervalometer was tested at the U.S. Army Limited War Laboratory, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. (Author)
