Semi-Empirical Simplification of Convective Heat Transfer Relationships,

Abstract

A study of the ZAP rocket motor plume required the determination of the relationships between adiabatic wall temperatures, heat transfer coefficients and surface temperatures. Semi-empirical relationships were developed which permits adiabatic wall temperatures and heat transfer coefficients to be determined from surface temperature measurements. A by-product of this analysis is the approximation of the error function by a linear equations. (Author)
