On the Eve of the Twentieth Anniversary of the General Staff Academy. Scientific Session Devoted to Application of Mathematical Methods and Automation in Troop Command.

Abstract

A scientific seminar was held in December 1967 on the general subject of the application of mathematical methods and automation processes for combat troop command. The majority of the papers presented at the seminar stressed the advantages to be gained through the use of computers in the timely processing and dissemination of combat intelligence. Some attention was also given to the so-called 'man-machine interface' problem and to the increasing requirements of the military for highly trained personnel to keep pace with advancing technological developments.
