Estimation of Energy Dissipated in the Process of Plastic Deformation of Certain Metals,

Abstract

On the basis of test data, relations are obtained, which made it possible to estimate the energy dissipated in the course of the plastic deformation process of some metals at various deformation rates and temperatures; the numerical computations and analyses were made for copper and aluminum. A study of this problem also permits determination of the impact strength of a metal initially subjected to static deformation. (Author)
