The Structure and Strength of Glass Fibers,

Abstract

New experiments are described to demonstrate the existence of a thin structural layer in glass fibers of the aluminosilicate group. Various levels of strength of glass and glass fibers correlated with certain types of surface defects are discussed. (Author)
