Hydrolytic Stability of Elastomeric Materials.

Abstract

Seven elastomeric materials were exposed in a high temperature-high humidity environment (200F, 95% R.H.) for various intervals, through 28 days. Deterioration varied greatly and most of the materials reached a 'plateau' (a leveling-off of degradation) which occurred approximately at the 7-day interval. Several comparative environments were studied, including a cycling procedure simulating operational conditions. (Author)
