New Synthetic Methods for Silicon-Nitrogen Polymers
Abstract
Condensation polymers of N,N'-bis(dimethylaminodimethylsilyl) tetramethylcyclodisilazane and bis(p-dimethylhydroxysilyphenyl) ether and p- phenylenebis (dimethylsilanol) were prepared and characterized. Evidence is offered for the structure of the oligomers obtained by equilibrating dichlorodimethylsilane with hexamethylcyclotrisilazane under various conditions and the structure compared with that of other similarly prepared materials that have been reported by others. Additional materials are offered on the synthesis of monomers and intermediates.
