The NWC Camera Barricade and Firing Chamber.

Abstract

The NWC Camera Barricade and Firing Chamber is a testing tool for observing detonation of warheads and explosive charges weighing up to 200 pounds TNT, or equivalent. Small charges up to 10 pounds are tested within the Firing Chamber; larger charges are tested on the desert floor north of the Firing Chamber, or on the embankment which is an extension of the Firing Chamber roof. The Camera Barricade is equipped to observe and record all sizes of firings by use of the same photographic and electronic instrumentation; the X-ray equipment can be used only with smaller charges.
