Evaluation of Ni-Fe and Ni-Zn Batteries.

Abstract

A research program on the development and evaluation of Ni-Fe cells in the nickel-cadmium BB616( )/U case size and Ni-Zn cells in the silver zinc BB462( )/U case size is described. Parameters of cell construction such as electrode thickness, electrode geometry, separator type, electrolyte concentration and additives to the electrodes and electrolyte were studied. The effect of these parameters on cell output characteristics were evaluated in factorially designed experiments. Data analysis was performed by multiple linear regression techniques with the aid of a computer. (Author)
