Electromagnetic Boresight Control Problems of Radar Transmission Through a Radome.

Abstract

A summary of research on methods for radome boresight analysis is presented. Two theoretical approaches are discussed: a ray tracing method and an integral equation technique. The ray tracing method is applied to typical antenna-radome problems in order to demonstrate its usefulness in both analysis and design. The integral equation method is under development to provide a rigorous analysis of the field scattered by radomes and has been used successfully to calculate TE and TM plane wave (arbitrary incidence) scattering from dielectric rings and thin-wall cylindrical shells.
