Simple Flow of a Fluid Containing Deformable Structures,

Abstract

The flow between tow plates of a fluid containing deformable structures is examined analytically. Typical profiles of the shear deformation and vorticity of the structures, the velocity gradient, and velocity are given. Among the features exhibited by the solutions for stationary plates are velocity profiles with one, two, or three local maxima and profile segments where the flow is countergradient. The single maxima profiles vary from classic parabolic forms to those characteristic of high Reynolds number flow. (Author)
