A Statistical Analysis of the Solar Granulation Velocity and Intensity Fields on the Light of the Fe 6569 A Line.
Abstract
A filtergram showing the solar granulation in the light of the Fe 6569 A line was analyzed to determine intensity and velocity fluctuations. A theoretical calculation was made to calculate the velocity depth of the 6569 A line. The filtergram data was analyzed on the Sacramento Peak Observatory microphotometer and reduced with the installation's computer. High spatial and temporal resolution resulted in reliable data out to wave length 700 km.
