Microwave Synthesis Techniques.

Abstract

In the 1968 Annual Report the nature of slot-line and possible microwave integrated-circuit applications was discussed. On the present report, 'second-order' solutions in the basic shot-line parameters are described and experimental confirmation is shown. The theory of the inverted-common-collector (ICC) transistor circuit and its application to microwave bandpass filters is briefly reviewed. Much attention is focused on the practical design of ICC circuits. Also, their temperature stability is investigated. The application of ICC circuits to frequency multiplexing and impedance matching is discussed. Corrected formulas are given for the numerical solution of coupled microstrip transmission lines. New data for a trial 10-dB microstrip directional coupler is presented. (Author)
