Bounds for Use in Stochastic Network Analysis.

Abstract

The problem of developing techniques to determine bounds on the probability statements concerning project duration times meeting specified schedules is investigated in this paper. The problem of establishing bounds on the probability of a given path being critical is also investigated. These techniques are then applied to real world PERT networks to determine if they are tight enough to be of any practical use. The results obtained are then compared to those obtained when PERT techniques are applied to the same networks. (Author)
