Experimental Evaluation of Robust Digital FM Receiver.

Abstract

The report covers the theory of operation, test results, and recommendations for a breadboard model digital FM receiver. Results of the in-house testing program show that the digital receiver yields a reduction in FM threshold over a conventional discriminator for both Gaussian and non-Gaussian channels. The digital receiver is shown to be superior to a discriminator in terms of click reduction and interference rejection. Certain design changes are proposed to overcome bandwidth limitations of the original design and to provide optimum performance under varying channel conditions. (Author)
