300C Rotating Rectifier Alternator. Phase II. Design, Fabrication, and Test of Alternator.

Abstract

Work is continuing on the Phase II effort of the contract. Phase II is the design, fabrication, and test of a 300C ambient brushless alternator using a silicon carbide rotating rectifier. This report covers the fourth three-month period of Phase II of the project. The technical efforts of the period were completion of production processes programs and initiation of manufacturing. All major developmental programs were completed successfully. Manufacturing of punchings for the rotor and stator stacks was begun. A thermal analysis of a silicon carbide rectifier under operating conditions was completed. (Author)
