Evaluation of Burp Pressurization System,

Abstract

The airborne tank pressurization system is used to increase the propellant tank pressures by small increments to provide a net positive suction head for the boost pumps prior to each engine start cycle. The objectives of the test were to determine the change in ullage pressure; the duration of the pressurization cycle; and the amount of helium consumed during a pressurization cycle. (Author)
