Far-Field Prediction of Submarine Radiated Noise from Near-Field Measurements. Volume II,

Abstract

A method of predicting the far-field patterns of broad-band acoustic sources from measurements of pressure on a surface in the near field has been mathematically derived, numerically calculated, and experimentally verified. The method has been applied to the calibration of sonar transducers in the near field.
