Drag and Stability Properties of the XM144 Flechette with Various Head Shapes

Abstract

The drag and stability properties of a family of flechettes with conical heads are presented; cone semi-angles varied from 5 to 90 degrees. The data cover a range from Mach 2 to Mach 4 and were determined from free flight spark range tests. Limited results on a spike-nosed configuration are also given. (Author)
