Design of an Optimum Navy Enlisted Classification Structure: Report on Current Needs and Problem Areas.

Abstract

The problem is to assess the adequacy of the present Navy Enlisted Classification (NEC) system and to determine whether certain refinements are warranted and feasible. The instant research seeks to identify existing operational problems and their causes, and to determine implemental needs for the design of an optimum NEC System to serve personnel ashore and afloat more effectively.
