Using the Poncelet Penetration Equation to Predict the Instantaneous Velocity of a Projectile in Rice

Abstract

The study was concerned with using the Poncelet penetration equation to predict the instantaneous velocity of a 20mm APT (Armor Piercing Tracer), M95, projectile at various depths into long-grained, polished rice. The Poncelet predictions found have yet to be tested with a controlled firing program.
