Closure Analysis and Test Study. Volume II. Technical Report.

Abstract

The report contains a complete discussion of all study activities accomplished during the Closure Analysis and Test Study, and shows the interrelationship between the study tasks that were performed to establish the credibility of producing an integrated closure subsystem capable of surviving the nuclear weapons effects postulated for advanced missile launch facilities. Eleven closure system design concepts were developed and analyzed to evaluate their capability to resist the nuclear attack level specified. Overpressure, ground shock, debris, thermal EMP, and nuclear radiation effects were considered. (Author)
