MOL Program Detailed Test Plan for Material Properties,

Abstract

This report presents a program for evaluation of nonmetals and electrical/ electronic materials in the critical environments of the MOL. Environmental testing, tentative test methods, and test equipment are discussed in detail for the interior, exterior and ascent conditions. Phenolic/glass, PI/glass, aluminum, and epoxy are used as honeycomb core materials. Sealants include polysulfide composites, silicone and urethane. Other plastics tested included polyester, ABS, acetal, acrylic, nylon, polycarbonates, polyethylene, polypropylene, cellulose acetate butyrate and monochlorotrifluoroethylene. (Author, modified-PL)
