A Multiple-Scale Research Program in Tropical Meteorology.

Abstract

This report describes our efforts to implement a research program in tropical meteorology which considers the contributions of physical processes on several scales to tropical weather phenomena. The data-base for much of our initial effort lies in data collected prior to the beginning of work under this contract, especially data obtained from the 1968 Barbados Field Program. These data have been organized, cataloged and processed initially during this first quarter. Re-programming of basic diagnostic and prognostic mathematic models in order to utilize the recently augmented memory capacity of our computer was also accomplished. (Author)
