Vehicle Mounted Thermoelectric Battery Chargers.

Abstract

This report describes the progress made in the development of thermoelectric battery chargers. The objective of this program is the design, fabrication, testing, and delivery of thermoelectric battery chargers in two sizes which are capable of producing 300 and 560 watts at 28 volts, and which utilize liquid hydrocarbon fuels of the type that are logistically available in the field. An additional objective is the design and fabrication of a thermoelectric converter which is capable of producing 1100 watts at 36 volts, together with associated hardware needed to support the converter for heating and cooling purposes.
