Field Application of UH-1 Sonic Analyzer

Abstract

This report covers work performed during a program to evaluate the sonic analyzer and to verify the component-level limits. The test program consisted of taking 33 runs on 11 UH-1 series helicopters. Real time analyses, along with analyses from magnetic tape recordings, were performed. The CWEA-4 Sonic Analyzer shows potential as a successful indicator of power train component anomalies for the UH-1 series helicopters.
