Thermally Stable Organometallic Polymers,

Abstract

The need for thermally stable polymers capable of maintaining good mechanical properties in the vicinity of 1000F to be used as coatings, insulators, and adhesives has prompted an attempt to prepare highly metallated polymers containing ferrocene, carborane, and silicon. The basic monomers needed for polymer studies have been prepared. In subsequent reactions utilizing these monomers considerable difficulty was encountered in characterizing the products. (Author)
