Initial Production Test (Tropic) of Tank, Fabric Collapsible, 10,000 Gallon Capacity.

Abstract

The US Army Tropic Test Center conducted an Initial Production Test (Tropic) of two 10,000 Gallon Capacity Collapsible Fabric Tanks. The test item was designed as a lightweight improvement of the standard item 10,000 gallon tank used principally in Class III Fuel System Supply Points and portable pipeline farms. Initial production testing of these items was conducted at US Army General Equipment Test Activity and US Army Tropic Test Center during fiscal year 1967. Modifications were recommended and made to correct deficiencies and improve performance. The USATTC was directed to conduct a twelve-month static storage test to determine the durability of the tank when employed in a humid tropic environment. (Author)
