Initial Production Test of Helicopter Transmission Stand (FSN 4920-952-3800).

Abstract

The helicopter transmission stand is designed to accommodate quick-change assemblies and build-up of transmissions contained in those helicopters type-classified Standard A. The stand is mounted on four wheels, two rigid and two swiveling, with pneumatic 4.00 x 8 six-ply tires. The frame is constructed of welded aluminum tubing. Stainless steel inserts provide wear resistant threads and surfaces for frequently detached parts. Lettered markings are provided to aid in mounting transmissions, and are engraved to preserve legibility even after repainting. The transmission stand was found to be adaptable to those transmissions used in UH-1(), OH-13(), OH-23(), and AH-1G Helicopters, but is not adaptable to the OH-6A or CH-47() Helicopter transmissions.
