Data Analysis Control System.
Abstract
To assure optimum quality photographic products, a Data Analysis Control System (DACS) was installed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The system functions as a fault detector, and is capable of predicting impending failure in various component areas. The system provides instrumentation for the processing facility, the power plant, the air conditioning system, and the water purification plant. The DACS monitors approximately 400 parameters of which approximately 200 are analog and the remaining are digital. All parameters are monitored by periodic scanning controlled by a process control computer. This current status is compared with stored limits, and their status is indicated on a large graphic display panel. Any deviation outside of stored limits produces an audible alarm, a visual indication on the display panel, and a print-out of the alarm condition. Additionally, logs of all parameter values are periodically printed out on a line printer. (Author)
