High-Temperature-Resistant Forward Horizontal Plastic Trimmer.
Abstract
This report describes the development of a plastic trimmer which is interchangeable with a conventional aluminum trimmer now in service. The development description includes the evaluation of materials, stress and weight factors, tooling, and fabrication methods. It was found that a resin-impregnated glass laminate structure with a plastic honeycomb core, fabricated by specific processes, satisfied the major application requirements. The requirements include operation in the temperature range of 500 F. (Author)
