Tactical Data Converter Design Study.

Abstract

The report contains the studies performed and the systems analysis used to provide design data necessary for construction of a tactically-oriented digital-to-video converter. This study was conducted in two parts: the first was an investigation into the various approaches offering the possibility of meeting the desired electro-physical design characteristics; the second part of the study involved a detailed logical design of the most desirable approach and a mechanical design, detailed sufficiently to verify that the approach could satisfy the required criteria. Strong emphasis was placed upon maximum use of existing medium scale integrated circuits to produce high reliability. Also, a memory system was chosen that appeared to be most feasible in relation to reliability, power, size, weight, and cost considerations. (Author)
