Program Production System Software Support and JOVIAL Compiler Quality Assurance.

Abstract

The purpose of this effort was to provide engineering services in support of Rome Air Development Center's Program Production System (PPS) necessary to insure operational efficiency in the use of the system and to assure that the final versions of the JOVIAL compilers for the GE-635 and UNIVAC-1218 would conform to Air Force Manual 100-24, Standard JOVIAL Specification. The engineering support provided included the following: (1) modifications to the tape files handling program (UFM), (2) modifications to the system to implement the option of using drum for input/output rather than the disc file when compiling, (3) updates to the system to apply the latest corrections, (4) provide training in the use of the JOVIAL programming language and the Program Production System, and (5) production of documentation to support all of the above. Testing the JOVIAL compilers for the GE-635 and UNIVAC-1218 was accomplished. (Author)
