Dissociation Energy of Ce2.

Abstract

Using a combination of effusion and mass-spectrometric techniques, the Ce2 molecule has been detected in the vapor in equilibrium over liquid cerium in the temperature range 2100K - 2400K. Its dissociation energy has been calculated from the dimer-to-monomer ratio to be 65 kcal/mole. (Author)
