On the Chemical Equilibrium in the Reaction Between Lead Sulfide and its Oxidation Products. III,

Abstract

The chemical equilibrium in the reaction between lead sulfide and its oxidation products was investigated. It was found that equilibrium between the solid or liquid phases and the gases is present in reactions characterized by a specific sulfur dioxide tension that is dependent only on temperature. Cooling curves for 25 different mixtures of both compounds are given, and the solidification and transition points were determined. (Author)
