SEDS: System Effectiveness Data System. Volume II. User Documentation and Implementation Instructions.

Abstract

The problem of providing the Department of Defense with the ability to monitor weapon system evaluation and/or support activity with an 'in house' data analysis capability supported by a set of automated computer programs and analytical techniques is the subject of this report. The approach used in resolving the problem is based on the concept of a 'single thread data system' with consistent data elements, definitions and analytical techniques capable of providing management data products throughout the life cycle of weapon systems. The result of the research and development effort is the System Effectiveness Data System (SEDS) described in the two volumes of this report. Volume II presents the user documentation required to reproduce the data products in Volume I on similar computer equipment. The aim of Volume II is to enable the knowledgeable programmer to implement SEDS supporting computer programs. (Author)
