The Effect of Fatigue on a Human Being's Optical Reaction Time,
Abstract
The influence of weariness on the optical reaction time of man was investigated. Physiologically-caused symptoms of fatigue considerably lessen the reaction time. The effect can be drastically enhanced by administration of hypnotic methaqualon and can be completely suppressed by ephedrine hydrochloride. Measurements of the time of reaction appear to be an appropriate method for testing drugs with central-nervous action. (Author)
