Aerodynamic Characteristics of Multiple Fins at Supersonic Mach Numbers.

Abstract

Selected test data are presented which show the aerodynamic properties of multiple fins, mounted on the tail section of slender bodies of revolution, as a function of the fin geometry at Mach numbers 1.75, 2.50, 3.50 and 4.50. Other parameters which alter the flow field past the fins such as the length of the forebody, the shape of the nose and the location of canard fins are also considered. (Author)
