Voltage Regulation and Conversion in Unconventional Electrical Generator Systems.

Abstract

Automatic power servicing and control was investigated. Suitable approaches for accomplishing power system optimization through fault detection and system reorganization are presented for two typical systems. A three-phase DC-AC Bridge Chopper Inverter was designed using digital control techniques. Sinusoidal output with less than 2% total distortion was obtained at a power level of 1 KVA and an overall efficiency of 84.5%. Package weight of the breadboard model was 19.5 lb. Design details and test results are presented. A 100-watt DC-DC Converter model and a 100 VA DC-AC Inverter model were designed and constructed to meet the package configuration requirements of MS-16057-2. Design details and test results are summarized in the report. (Author)
