On the Application of the Potsdam Gravity System

Abstract

The exact knowledge of gravity gradient on the pillars for measuring gravity is necessary to transfer the Potsdam fundamental data to the other sites in the Geodetic Institute. These gravity gradients are here found out by the computed gravitation of all the masses sharing in the erection of the Geodetic Institute. It was possible to determine the gravity in the sites with a mean uncertainty of plus or minus 0,0045 mGal, compared with the precise measurement by a Sharp-Gravimeter.
