Abstract

A thermoelectric element or battery for cooling or for the direct conversion of thermal energy into electrical energy is described. Its junction and semiconductor core are arranged in such a way that their contact surface is greater than their cross sectional surface perpendicular to the direction of flow of the electrical current.
