Comparative Analysis of the LCSS-ETG-3 Performance Capability Using Statistical Probabilities. Volume 2

Abstract

This report presents the results of an investigation of the compatibility of the error probabilities specified for the LCSS equipment with the measurement accuracy, the weapon system component tolerances, decision limits and number of sequential tests required to check a weapon component. The LCSS equipment is being developed to test critical components from several weapon systems. An analysis was performed using a theoretical approach to the problems of error probability-density functions and test equipment accuracy, weapon component tolerance and prescribed decision limits. A test program was written to obtain a sample of data to estimate the capability of the equipment to perform its desired functions of stimulating components and measuring their magnitudes under normal conditions. This effort is presented in two volumes. Volume I contains the rationale, analysis, and discussion. Volume II contains the measured data, the computed data, and statistical computations. The data in Volume II are presented for the use of those who would like to perform further analyses, for completeness, and for future reference.
