Proof Testing of Modified MD-6 Practice Bomb

Abstract

The modified MD-6 is an empty ballistic case with an access hatch built into its port side. The overall length of the unit is 12 feet and its diameter is 20 inches. The purpose of testing this unit was to determine the feasibility of using it as a carrier for high-value items and personal luggage. Test results indicate that this unit can be used for its intended purpose only after the seams at stations 5, 33, and 91 have been sealed with continuous circumferential welds.
