An Evaluation of the Fluctuating Airborne Environment in the AEDC-PWT 4-Ft Transonic Tunnel.

Abstract

An investigation was conducted to evaluate the free-stream dynamic environment in the test section of an aerodynamic wind tunnel, transonic (4T). Test results were obtained over a Mach number range of 0.2 to 1.2 at total pressures of 1000, 2000, and 3000 psfa. The objectives of the test were to establish the magnitude and frequency distribution of the dynamic environment in the test section, and to determine the means for improving this environment if necessary.
