Initial Production Test of Compressor, 4-CFM, 3000-PSI.

Abstract

This report summarizes the initial production test of the 4-cfm, 3000-psig compressor. The purpose of the test was to determine conformance of the compressor to required performance characteristics. The results showed that most equipment failures were encountered during 550 hours of endurance testing. Several shortcomings were found during the initial performance, tilted position, high-temperature, low-temperature, and maintainability tests, but were not considered critical in nature. It is concluded that the compressor meets the test objectives with the exceptions noted.
