Evaluation of Infiltrated Tungsten Nozzle Inserts

Abstract

The six nozzles were tested under multiple pulse duty cycles on the 5000-pound thrust solid propellant simulator. The duty cycles were chosen by the Air Force. The simulated propellant was highly aluminized and corrosive. This same propellant was used also in the program for the pyrolytic graphite restart tests. This report contains a description of the nozzles and test results. Post- test observations have been made, however extensive post-test analyses have not been conducted.
